Happy International Men's Day!
It’s International Men’s Day and I hope every good man out there has a great one. Men go through a lot that often gets dismissed. They’re told not to cry because it’s “unmanly” pushed to act tough, and judged for having emotions or not being able to express them at all. They rarely get asked how they’re doing and expected to reply with a "I'm cool bro" because we don't know how to respond to a I'm not good or I need help; this I'd say is a neutral social ideology I will leave for another day *sigh* Somewhere along the way, we twisted the idea of feminism. It was always meant to be about equality. If we ignore men’s needs and struggles, we’re not practicing equality at all. We’re just repeating a new version of the same old patriarchy without even noticing how wrong that is. Strength and respect to the men who show up with kindness, integrity, and effort.
