UP Budget 2025-26


 Presenting focused contributions to state development against rising expectations of economic growth, infrastructure, and social welfare, the Uttar Pradesh Budget 2025, tabled in the State Assembly on February 20, 2025, by the Finance Minister, Suresh Kumar Khanna, ultimately consolidates the needs and a thorough outlay of ₹8.08 lakh crore for2025-26. This budget sets a mark of improvement as it records a rise of 9.8% from lastyear’s amount of ₹7.36 lakh crore. The aggressive budget focuses on state infrastructure, development, technological advancement, and welfare of all sections of society,particularly women and backward classes.13% is where they dedicated their attention in the budget for the education sector.Improving accessibility to quality education was the main aim of the allocation that involves funds for school modernization, establishing new educational institutions, ands kill development courses to help prepare students for the future.

Agriculture and Rural Development: Traditionally, the state is agriculture-based.Commensurate with its agenda of rural development, it has earmarked 11% of this budget for investment in irrigation, crop insurance, farmer subsidies, and small-scale industry support; this will ensure that agriculture is sustainably viable in the long term and that welfare is secured for farmers.

Development Schemes: Infrastructure, urbanization, and industrialization are among the core areas to which the government allocates 22% of the budget for development works,and will thus increase the investment level of the economy in the coming years. Indeed,such budgetary allocations are a direct benefit to boosting economic growth in getting investment and creating employment opportunities in the entire state.

The most controversial scheme in this budget is that of free scooters for all girls within the state. The scheme aims at promoting gender equality, providing greater education, and providing greater mobility for women as a whole, especially those in rural areas whose movement remains limited.

Apart from these free cooking gas cylinders for deserving families, as announced by the government, these will also ease the economic burden during inflation.Positioning Uttar Pradesh as a leader in technology, this budget visualizes building an artificial Intelligence City in Lucknow. The innovative plan is to attract top IT firms, promote innovation, and create talent in AI and machine learning.

Another central pillar of the digitalization agenda, the budget envisions developing a cybersecurity park, which will emerge as the primary hub for the digital infrastructure security of the state, as Uttar Pradesh moves into digital economy and governance system.

To create employment and promote industrial growth, the state invests very high amount to build industrial estates and export parks in unrevealed regions of the state.

The budget does promise a vision for making Uttar Pradesh competitive and inclusive and for uplifting the quality of life of its people. If properly implemented, these steps can take strides in economic growth, social equality, and technological progress in the coming future.
